Guinevere approaches music from a historically informed viewpoint; striving to bring music from the past to life. As a baroque bassist and viola da gambist, she has a unique view of looking at pieces from the bottom up.

Music is built with many layers, and while each layer communicates with the others, the top usually gets the most attention. Guinevere looks instead at the bassline and see how many ways she can play it, what emotions it has, and where it supports and embellishes other lines.

Guinevere has a Master’s Degree in Historical Performance on Baroque Bass/Violone and Viola de Gamba from Longy School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Double Bass Performance from Temple University.
